At yesterday’s PlayStation State of Play, Sony Pictures Virtual Reality and VR developer nDreams revealed that Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord will be released on PlayStation VR2, Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest 3 on 26th October. Watch the new trailer below….
In Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord players become the latest members of the Ghostbusting team where they will take on a number of different missions such as collecting dark PKE or closing interdimensional portals. There’s no supernatural job too big or too small in the pursuit of taking down the Ghost Lord. Up to four players can take part in missions and work together to solve puzzles, detect spooks and trap ghosts.
The capabilities of the PSVR2 will bring the Ghostbusters universe to life as players will be able to feel the vibration of ghosts flying through the air via the headset rumble and the VR2 Sense controllers bring an accurate feel of using ghostbusting equipment and even squeezing Mini-Pufts.
“It’s almost time to team up with friends in a new city, with a new crew, in the next big Ghostbusters adventure. We are thrilled to offer players a way to immerse themselves in the world of Ghostbusters like never before, only possible through virtual reality,” says Jake Zim, Senior Vice President, Virtual Reality, Sony Pictures Entertainment. “We’ve still got more surprising news to share, and we can’t wait to get the game in players’ hands October 26, just in time for Halloween!”
