Chinese remake of Anaconda goes wild with trailer and posters

March 28, 2024 by Gary Collinson

Any Anaconda fans out there tired of waiting on an update on the planned reboot will soon be able to get their giant snake fix courtesy of a Chinese remake of the cult 1997 adventure-horror.

The new Anaconda follows a group of circus performers who find themselves targeted by the giant deadly snake after becoming stranded in the rainforest en route to their next performance. Check out the trailer below, along with some rather fine poster artwork…

“A group of circus performers, on their way to what they think is a new performance location, become stranded in a lush rainforest after the boat they were on, and the captain leading the way, are eaten and destroyed by an anaconda. They cross paths with a deadly poacher who is hunting the anaconda, who realizes that he might now have enough bait to catch him. But being circus performers, they have a few survival tricks up their sleeves.”

Anaconda is directed by Qiuliang Xiang and stars Terence Yin, Nita Lei, Ruoyan Xia, Zi Qi Wang, Xingchen Wang, and Paul Che. Hopefully we’ll have word on a western release date soon.
