Netflix announces Wednesday season 2 cast additions and start of production

May 9, 2024 by Gary Collinson

After a hugely successful first season with its updated take on the classic The Addams Family, Netflix has announced that filming on the second season of Wednesday is now underway, with Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams set to be joined by a host of new additions when she returns to Nevermore Academy.

As revealed in a season 2 cast video, the new cast members include Joanna Lumley as Grandmama, Steve Buscemi as Principal Barry Dort, Billie Piper as Capri and Thandiwe Newton as Dr. Fairburn. Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, Noah Taylor, Frances O’Connor, Hayley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo and Joonas Suotamo are also set to feature along with Christopher Lloyd, who of course portrayed Uncle Fester in 1991’s The Addams Family movie and its 1993 sequel Addams Family Values.
