Resident Evil games coming to iPhones, iPads and Macs

June 11, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Capcom has announced they will be bringing two fan-favourite Resident Evil games to the latest Apple devices. Resident Evil 7 biohazard and Resident Evil 2 will be coming to the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max and every iPad and Mac with M1 chip or later.

Resident Evil 7 biohazard introduces Ethan Winters, a man who sets out on a search for his missing wife but finds a sinister southern farmhouse with very unpleasant residents.  What follows is a struggle to escape and a fight that his own life depends on him winning.

The iPhone and iPad versions of Resident Evil 7 biohazard has been powered by Capcom’s RE ENGINE and will feature enhanced controls with a new Auto Fire option that will shoot once the player has aimed at a character for a set amount of time.  Compatible Bluetooth controllers are also supported so as to provide a better gaming experience.

Resident Evil 7 biohazard is available to pre-order now, along with a bundle consisting of the main game and Not A Hero story DLC, featuring Chris Redfield.

Resident Evil 2 is currently in development and has been completely rebuilt from the ground up using Capcom’s RE ENGINE.  Players will go back to Raccoon City to follow rookie police officer Leon S. Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield as they struggle to escape the zombie nightmare.

This upcoming title will feature realistic visuals, immersive audio, modernised controls on top of the gameplay modes from the original game and a brand new over-the-shoulder camera.

Both titles will utilise Apple’s MetalFX Upscaling technology and offer Universal Purchase and cross progression between iPhone, iPad and Mac so that players can continue their save games on any of their devices.

Preorder Resident Evil 7 biohazard now and look out for more on Resident Evil 2 coming in the future.
