Gladiator II character posters showcase the cast of Ridley Scott’s sequel

July 12, 2024 by Amie Cranswick

Hot on the heels of the first trailer for Gladiator II, a batch of character posters have arrived online for Ridley Scott’s hotly-anticipated sequel featuring Lucius (Paul Mescal), General Acacius (Pedro Pascal), Emperor Geta (Joseph Quinn), Emperor Caracalla (Fred Hechinger), Macrinus (Denzel Washington), and Lucilla (Connie Nielsen); take a look here…

Several decades after the events of Gladiator (2000), Lucius—the grandson of Rome’s former emperor Marcus Aurelius and son of Lucilla—lives with his wife and child in Numidia. Roman soldiers led by General Marcus Acacius invaded, forcing Lucius into slavery. Inspired by the story of Maximus, as depicted in the original 2000 film, Lucius resolves to fight as a gladiator while opposing the rule of the young emperors Caracalla and Geta.

Gladiator II sees Paul Mescal lead a cast that also includes Denzel Washington, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, Fred Hechinger, Connie Nielsen, Djimon Hounsou, Matt Lucas, and Derek Jacobi.

Gladiator II will be released in cinemas on November 15th in the UK and November 22nd in North America.
