Fatshark has today announced that the Open Beta for the long-anticipated Warhammer – Vermintide 2: Versus is now available on Steam for anyone to play, even if you don’t own Vermintide 2. Versus is a new asymmetric PvP+E game mode that allows for an entirely new way to play. Watch the new trailer below…
This new game mode will allow players to take part in exciting 4v4 battles between the Heroes of Ubersreik and the devious Skaven specials, also known as the Pactsworn. The latter has the ability to call in an AI horde of Skaven who will make a beeline for the good guys. Each match will take place over several rounds with each team swapping between the Heroes and the Pactsworn each round. This means that players will get to enjoy both playing as the Heroes akin to Adventure mode and stopping the Heroes as members of the Pactsworn.
When the Versus game mode releases fully it will feature:
- An intense asymmetrical multiplayer battle in which teams of four will fight as the beloved Ubersreik Five Heroes and the Pactsworn.
- An extremely diverse range of strategies to use while fighting through unpredictable matches.
- Players will be able to choose from 5 different heroes and 20 different careers or from 5 different Pactsworn Skaven, each with their own abilities.
- Fight over familiar ground as the war-ravaged Vermintide 2 adventure maps have been reimagined for PVP.
- A new progression system with challenges and rewards designed specifically for Versus mode.
The Open Beta for Vermintide 2: Versus is available now on Steam, so don’t delay as it will only be available until 2nd September.
