The Baby in the Basket to screen at Romford Horror Festival 2025

January 30, 2025 by Gary Collinson

Followers of Flickering Myth will be all too aware that we’re getting into the independent film business with the impending release of our gothic horror film The Baby in the Basket, which launches with a cinema release in the Philippines next week before making its way to DVD and Digital in the UK and US on February 17th.

However, for any UK-based folks who may be interested in catching the film on the big screen – with some of our fantastic cast and crew in attendance no less – will soon have that opportunity as The Baby in the Basket will be screening as part of the line-up for the 2025 Romford Horror Festival – a.k.a. HorRHIFFic.

If you’d like to join us, The Baby in the Basket will be screening along with a Q&A on Sunday, March 2nd at 8pm, and tickets are on sale now, priced at just £5.50. We hope to see you there!

Along with The Baby in the Basket, the 2025 Romford Horror Festival line-up includes a great mix of independent and short films (including FM veteran Shaun Munro’s Breakfast screening on Saturday March 21st), so be sure to visit the official website to take a look through the full schedule.

A baby in a basket is left on the steps of an isolated monastery on a Scottish island. The nuns take it in, planning to care for it until a storm passes. Soon though, strange and unexplained events begin to happen at the convent.

Directed by Nathan Shepka and Andy Crane (Dead Before They Wake), and written by Tom Jolliffe (Cinderella’s Revenge), The Baby in the Basket stars Amber Doig-Thorne (Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey), Michaela Longden (How to Kill Monsters), Elle O’Hara (Cara), Lisa Riesner (No Dogs Allowed), Nathan Shepka (When Darkness Falls), Annabelle Lanyon (Legend), Maryam d’Abo (The Living Daylights) and Paul Barber (The Full Monty).
