David Thewlis and Blu Hunt are Sherlock & Daughter in trailer for The CW’s mystery-drama series

April 4, 2025 by Amie Cranswick

The CW has released a poster and trailer for the mystery drama series Sherlock & Daughter, ahead of its premiere later this month.

The series stars David Thewlis as Sherlock Holmes and follows the legendary detective as  he struggles with a sinister case when he crosses paths with a young woman Amelia (Blu Hunt) who claims to be his daughter, as she works on her own case, trying to solve her mother’s mysterious murder. Watch the trailer below…

“As he ages, we encounter a new and grumpy Sherlock Holmes, out of his comfort zone and mysteriously unable to investigate a sinister case without risking the lives of his closest friends. It is then that he crosses paths, not so coincidentally with a witty young American girl named Amelia, who claims to be his daughter!

Following her mother’s mysterious murder, she discovers that her missing father may be the legendary detective. Despite wildly different backgrounds and attitudes, the pair must work together to solve a global conspiracy, crack her mother’s murder, and find out the mystery surrounding Amelia’s birth!

Instinct or experience, which Holmes will solve the new seemingly impossible case brought to Sherlock Holmes? Can his newly discovered witty daughter be the one he had been waiting for all along?”

Sherlock & Daughter premieres on The CW on April 16th.
