Mia Goth joins Shawn Levy’s Star Wars: Starfighter

June 7, 2025 by EJ Moreno

Mia Goth has ventured through many stranger worlds, but she’ll enter her most galactic as she joins the upcoming Star Wars film from Shawn Levy.

Star Wars: Starfighter, which also stars Ryan Gosling, has added Mia Goth to its cast. The InSneider first reported the news, with THR then confirming and reporting that Goth is set to portray a villain, who is pursuing a young charge of Gosling’s character. Oscar-winner Mikey Madison is said to have previously been in talks for the role, with negotiations breaking down over pay.

Goth is best known for her work in the independent cinema world, as well as becoming a modern scream queen with Ti West’s trilogy of films: X, Pearl, and MaXXXine.

Next up for the actress is Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein alongside Jacob Elordi and Oscar Isaac later this year [watch the trailer here], while she’ll also feature in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey with Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, and Robert Pattinson.

Star Wars: Starfighter marks the first outing for Levy in the Star Wars franchise, but he has worked under the Disney umbrella with the hit Deadpool & Wolverine. Jonathan Tropper has penned the screenplay for the film, which is said to be standalone in nature and takes place five to six years after the events of the Sequel Trilogy.

The film is aiming for a fall production start with a theatrical release date set for May 28, 2027.
