Trailer for supernatural thriller Went Up the Hill starring Dacre Montgomery and Vicky Krieps

June 13, 2025 by Amie Cranswick

Following on from its premiere at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival, Greenwich Entertainment has shared a trailer for writer-director Samuel Van Grinsven’s supernatural thriller Went Up the Hill.

The film sees Jack (Dacre Montgomery) travel to New Zealand to attend the funeral of his estranged mother where he meets her grieving widow Jill (Vicky Krieps). But as the pair bond over their loss, the woman’s spirit inhabits their bodies creating a terrifying life-threatening connection. Check out the trailer below…

In this chilling ghost story, a recently deceased woman haunts her estranged son Jack (Dacre Montgomery of Stranger Things) and her grieving widow Jill (Vicky Krieps of Phantom Thread and Corsage). When the woman’s spirit inhabits the survivors, the living must grapple with the destruction she left behind while fighting for their own survival.

Went Up the Hill is coming soon.
