Become James Bond with 007 First Light gameplay reveal video

September 3, 2025 by Andrew Newton

During an exclusive Sony PlayStation State of Play, IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios unveiled the first gameplay video for the upcoming 007 First Light as well as revealing that this re-imagined origin story of James Bond will launch on Xbox Series X|S, Playstation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC on 27th March.

During the deep dive gameplay video, viewers can see a glimpse of the locations that they will be able to visit in the game. There are also peeks at an undercover mission during an exclusive chess tournament held in Slovakia, and a mission at a lavish gala in Kensington, London. When it comes to missions, IO Interactive has made it so that players will be able to take on objectives using different sets of skills, such as pure stealth, direct combat or a mix of both.

Being a game about the world’s greatest spy, it’s only expected that spycraft skills are just as powerful as any weapon in Bond’s arsenal. Players will be able to eavesdrop, pickpocket, search for clues, etc., all of which can open new pathways and opportunities in every mission. Bond will be able to use his instincts to lure enemies into vulnerable positions, bluff his way out of suspicion, or sharpen his focus in combat.

It would be disappointing if players didn’t get the opportunity to play with Q Branch gadgets. Fortunately, IO Interactive has included plenty of gadgets and gizmos to use, with many unlocking as they progress through the levels.

The cast of voice and motion capture actors has also been revealed, with Patrick Gibson (Dexter: Original Sin, The OA) portraying Bond, Priyanga Burford as M, Alastair Mackenzie as Q, Kiera Lester as Miss Moneypenny, Lennie James (Fear the Walking Dead, Save Me) as Bond’s mentor, John Greenway, and Noemie Nakai as Miss Roth.

007 First Light is available for pre-order now, and those who do will get upgraded to the Deluxe Edition, which includes item skins, outfits, weapon skin, and 24-hour early access. There will also be a Specialist Edition featuring an exclusive Classic Tux outfit for Bond and unique packaging for the game’s case. Finally, a Legacy Edition is available containing the Deluxe Edition content, an Exclusive Golden Gun weapon skin, the Obsidian Gold Suit outfit, a Golden Gun Figurine with Stand & Secret Compartment, a Certificate of Authenticity, and a Steel Case with Magnet.
