Wage war on the red planet with Mars Tactics gameplay trailer

September 29, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Hooded Horse and Takibi Games have released a new trailer for their upcoming tactical strategy game Mars Tactics. They’ve also revealed a launch date of May 2026 for the game to arrive on Steam. The new trailer (see below) showcases the latest footage of the gameplay, management and squad customisation mechanics.

Mars Tactics takes players to the red planet, where they will take part in large-scale strategic war across its surface. Players will choose between two factions: the resource-starved Labour Revolutionaries or the Capital army that works for those who have money. Lead soldiers who will grow and learn from their experiences in battle, and command scientists and engineers who will help you keep one step ahead of the enemy.

Each faction will have their own strengths and weaknesses that players will have to adapt to. The Labour Revolutionaries will be able to manufacture their weapons on Mars, and their morale will be higher, however, their forces are smaller than the Capital’s and also less powerful.

With a destructible environment, players can be more strategic in how they approach missions. Options will be available for players to destroy walls to make an escape route for their units, call in an airstrike to destroy the building the enemy is using, create a trench to take cover in, or take out the floor beneath the enemy and destroy any cover.

In this planet-wide war, players can suppress enemy units, establish outposts, develop new technologies, and more. Raid enemy bases and take prisoners of war to interrogate them for vital information.

Whether you fight for the downtrodden Labour Revolutionaries or the Capital army and their shareholders back on Earth, Mars Tactics will provide players with squad-level battles for control of an entire world.

Look out for Mars Tactics arriving on Steam in May 2026.
