Pearl director Ti West has rounded out his cast for his adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic Christmas tale, Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol which will star Johnny Depp as the titular holiday humbug.
Per Deadline, the latest additions to the film are Rupert Grint (Harry Potter), Daisy Ridley (Star Wars), Sam Claflin (The Hunger Games), Charlie Murphy (Happy Valley), Arthur Conti (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice) and Ellie Bamber (Willow).
They join Depp, Andrea Riseborough, Ian McKellan and Tramell Tillman in the film. Grint is said to be playing Bob Cratchit, one of Ebenezer Scrooge’s longtime employees who mostly lives in poverty as he tries to raise his family, including his sickly son Tiny Tim, and Tillman is reported to be the Ghost of Christmas Present.

Written by Dickens in 1843, A Christmas Carol has been a constant source of holiday entertainment with many films, TV series, stage plays and more adapting the classic story. West’s take will focus more on the supernatural side of Scrooge’s ghostly journey as it has been described as “a thrilling ghost story set in Dickens’ London, follows one man’s supernatural journey to face his past, present and future and fight for a second chance.”
West will direct from a script written by Nathaniel Halpern and Emma Watts producing.
Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol will be released November 13th, 2026.
