StudioCanal has released a second trailer for California Schemin’, the upcoming adaptation of Gavin Bain’s autobiography Straight Outta Scotland.
The film marks the directorial debut for James McAvoy, and tells the story of how two young Scottish aspiring musicians conned the music industry into believing that they were an established Californian rap duo, bagging themselves a record deal.
The cast includes Séamus McLean Ross (Outlander: Blood of My Blood), Samuel Bottomley (Anemone), Lucy Halliday (Blue Jean), Rebekah Murrell (One Day) and McAvoy.
Based on the improbably true story, the film follows aspiring Scottish MCs Gavin (Séamus McLean Ross) and Billy (Samuel Bottomley) as they devise an audacious scheme to achieve their dream of a record deal, by posing as Californian hip hop artists.
California Schemin’ arrives in cinemas on April 10th.
