HBO Max has officially unveiled a new trailer for the upcoming DC Studios series Lanterns, along with the official announcement that Laura Linney (Ozark) has joined the cast of the Green Lantern series in an as-yet-unrevealed role.
Lanterns centres on the legendary intergalactic peacekeeper Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) and rookie John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) as they work together to investigate a murder in Nebraska.
The cast also includes Kelly Macdonald as Sheriff Kelly, Garrett Dillahunt as William Macon, Poorna Jagannathan as Zoe, Sherman Augustus and J. Alphonse Nicholson as John Senior, Jasmine Cephas Jones as Bernadette Stewart and Ulrich Thomsen as Sinestro, with Nathan Fillion also reprising his Superman role as Guy Gardner.
The series follows new recruit John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) and Lantern legend Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler), two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.
Lanterns is set to premiere on HBO Max on August 16th.
