Andscape has released a poster and trailer for director Sheldon Candis’ upcoming sports drama They Fight.
Based on the 2018 documentary of the same name, the film follows Walt (Andre Holland), a reformed ex-con looking for redemption as he accepts the role of coaching a ragtag trio of teenagers, alongside his old mentor Slim (Wendell Pierce), helping the young boxers work their way to the Junior Nationals.
Joining Holland and Pierce in the cast is Samira Wiley, Anthony B. Jenkins, Toissaint Francois Battiste, and Mykelti Williamson. Watch the trailer below…
A reformed ex-con, Walt Manigan (André Holland), comes home to Southeast D.C. a changed man. He chases redemption, desperate to reclaim his soul, but he must return to the one place he swore he’d never set foot in again—a crumbling boxing gym clinging to life under the watchful eye of his old mentor, Slim (Wendell Pierce). They Fight arrives on Hulu and Disney+ on July 17th.
