Video Review – X-Men ’97 Season 2 is the return of Marvel’s best series

June 13, 2026 by EJ Moreno

EJ Moreno with a video review for season 2 of X-Men ’97…

Two things you should know before this review: Even when he’s wrong, Magneto is always right, and what a pleasure it is to be back in Marvel’s best universe. X-Men ’97 Season 2 has shown four episodes to critics, and it’s easy to claim that this is Marvel’s best series ever. We get non-stop action, heartbreaking moments, and some mutant mayhem we will all love.

If you needed a reminder on why the X-Men have been Marvel’s centerpiece for storytelling and emotional drama, then prepare yourself for a second season of X-Men ’97 that could possibly blow the first season out of the water. Are we ready for the Age of Apocalypse, or are there more evil foes awaiting our mutants? We will discuss all that and more in our spoiler-free review of the first four episodes.

Check out the review below, and be sure to follow us on YouTube for more reviews, exclusive interviews, and other video content…

X-Men ’97 Season 2 continues with the heroic mutant team of X-Men, divided and thrown across different eras in time as they struggle to navigate their return home. Meanwhile, back in the 1990s, suspicious foes and new strains of mutant intolerance are on the rise in the wake of the X-Men’s absence.

The series features the voice work of Ray Chase as Cyclops, Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey, Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm, Cal Dodd as Wolverine, J.P. Karliak as Morph, Lenore Zann as Rogue, George Buza as Beast, Matthew Waterson as Magneto, Isaac Robinson-Smith as Bishop, Gil Birmingham as Forge, and Ross Marquand as Professor X and Apocalypse.

X-Men ’97 season 2 premieres on Disney+ on July 1st.
