Dark Sky Films has released a trailer for Blood Shine, the upcoming folk horror from writer-directors Emily Bennett and Justin Brooks.
The film follows the lonely religious zealot Clara (Bennett), as she takes a problematic filmmaker (David Call) captive in her isolated home in upstate New York to perform her sadistic rituals.
Joining Bennett and Call in the cast are Brendan Sexton III, Toby Poser, Kyle Minshew, Maurice P. Kerry, and Larry Fessenden. Watch the trailer below…
In upstate New York, Clara is a religious zealot who worships light in lonely, sacred rituals. Brighton West is a horror filmmaker trying to work on his script when a chance encounter with Clara leads him into an hallucinatory web of faith, flesh, and the sublime.
Blood Shine is set for release on August 21st.
