Marvel finally confirms Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen for The Avengers: Age of Ultron

November 25, 2013 by admin

In casting news that will come as a surprise to no one, Marvel Studios has finally decided to confirm that the Godzilla duo of Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass 2) and Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene) will join Earth’s Mightiest Heroes as brother and sister Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch in Joss Whedon’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Both had been heavily rumoured for months before Samuel L. Jackson confirmed Olsen’s involvement back in October, and Olsen admitting she was set to reunite with her Godzilla co-star earlier this month. Quite why it’s taken Marvel so long to confirm their casting is anyone’s guess.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron will see writer-director Joss Whedon reuniting with Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Chris Evans (Captain America), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) and Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), while James Spader (The Blacklist) is set to play the antagonist – the artificial intelligence / killing machine Ultron. The film is set for release on May 1st, 2015.
