January 18, 2017 by Ricky Church

Its been floated about for a while now, but NBC finally confirmed today that Will & Grace will be returning to television for a 10 episode season with all four of the leads. Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally will once againportray Will, Grace, Jack and Karen respectively while series creators Max Mutchnick and David Kohan will showrun and produce the revival. Also returning is director James Burrows, who helmed every episode of the series while it was on the air, to direct again and executive produce.

Mutchnick gave a brief statement about the revival, saying “Dave and I are absolutely thrilled about the opportunity to write what Will, Grace, Jack and Karen are thinking about in 2017.”

Also commenting was NBC’s Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt who said “We’re thrilled that one of the smartest, funniest, and most defining comedies in NBC history is coming back. This groundbreaking series for everything from gay rights to social and political commentary — all disguised as a high-speed train of witty pop culture — is coming back where it belongs.”

NBC’s President Jennifer Salke also spoke about the opportunity to bring Will & Grace back, saying “We started talking with Mutchnick and Kohan about producing new episodes right after they shot the secret reunion show back in September, and the fact that all four of the original stars were excited about getting back into production is a testament to the joyful experience they had doing nearly 200 episodes for eight seasons. Few things cut through the clutter these days, especially in comedy, and Will & Grace is one of the best.”

The new season will premiere during the 2017 – 2018 television season.
