Marvel’s Ant-Man gets new writers

July 7, 2014 by admin

Some might start to think that this movie is turning into some sort of trainwreck…

Latino-Review is reporting that Gabriel Ferrari and Andrew Barrer have been hired by Marvel to act as production writers as the crew moves out to Atlanta to start production, as well as work over the script last looked over by Adam McKay (Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues).

As pointed out by Latino-Review, hiring production writers to re-write things while out on set is common practice in Hollywood productions, so it depends on how the Writer’s Guild see their level of input to whether they will have on-screen credits.

Ferrari and Barrer are unknowns in Hollywood at the moment, but they have written a script for the Sabrina the Teenage Witch reboot for Sony, which is apparently how they got the gig with Marvel on Ant-Man.

Directed by Peyton Reed (Down with Love, Yes Man) from a story by Edgar Wright (The World’s End) and Joe Cornish (Attack the Block) and rewrites from Adam McKay (Step Brothers), Ant-Man stars Paul Rudd (Anchorman), Michael Douglas (Last Vegas), Patrick Wilson (Watchmen), Evangeline Lilly (The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug), Corey Stoll (House of Cards),  Michael Pena (Cowboys & Aliens), Matt Gerald (Dexter), Kevin Weisman (Hello Ladies) and David Dastmalchian (The Dark Knight).
