Kevin Feige says there are “certainly no plans” for the Fantastic Four in the MCU

July 16, 2017 by Gary Collinson

In the build up to yesterday’s Marvel panel at the D23 Expo, the below image starting circulating on social media, prompting speculation – once again – that the Fantastic Four could be heading back to Marvel Studios.

Well, speaking to Yahoo! at the convention, Marvel chief Kevin Feige has again ruled out the possibility – for the foreseeable future, at least.

“I’ve been at Marvel for 17 years,” said Feige. “There are certainly no plans whatsoever for that. But too many amazing things have happened over the past 17 years for me ever say never. But for now, nothing. There’s a chance that aliens could come down from the sky right now. And we’ll use them in the movie in to save money on visual effects.”

There has been constant rumour and speculation about the possibility of the rights reverting back to Marvel following the disasterous release of Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four in 2015, although recent rumours have suggested that Fox is gearing up to take another crack at Marvel’s First Family with a “kid-centric” reboot.
