Halle Berry says Wolverine and Storm were lovers in the X-Men movies

August 11, 2017 by Gary Collinson

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Halle Berry has revealed that Wolverine and Storm shared a secret romantic relationship in the X-Men movies, only for her character to end up a little heartbroken when Logan decided he only had eyes for Jean Grey.

“Storm and Logan used to be lovers,” said Berry. “It’s true. Storm and Logan had a thing. I joke in the movies, I’m like, ‘How come nobody’s loving on Storm.’ Like what’s wrong with Storm? Nobody is checking for Storm’ So, we decided that Storm and Logan had a thing, and then Jean came and messed that up. When he really decided that Jean Grey was his [love] … that caused a problem. The having two girls at once thing, that doesn’t work for Storm.”

If you’ve watched the deleted scenes of X-Men: Days of Future Past, you’ll know we almost got a hint at this relationship between Wolverine and Storm as the two share a passionate kiss before Logan sets off back in time; check it out here…

Beyond the deleted scene, there doesn’t appear to be any indication in any of the X-Men movies that the two shared a relationship, so perhaps this is just Berry’s way of trying to add some depth to what was really a rather poorly-written interpretation of Storm.
