Warner Bros.’ Shazam to begin production in February 2018

September 19, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Back in July it was announced that the David F. Sandberg-directed Shazam would be the next DC Extended Universe project to go into production after Aquaman, and now we have word on the filming dates for the superhero solo movie.

WhatsFilming.Ca (via CBM) is reporting that Shazam will shoot in Toronto from February 5th 2018 under the working title of Franklin, with the production running through to May 4th.

As yet, there’s been no official word on any casting for the film. Dwayne Johnson was originally set to portray the character of Black Adam, although he’s since been removed from the film in favour of his own solo movie.

Meanwhile, rumours have suggested that both WWE star John Cena (Daddy’s Home) and Joshua Sasse (Galavant) are “tentative” front runners for the role of Billy Batson’s superhero alter-ego.
