Zack Snyder not returning to the DCEU, Linda Hamilton returns to Terminator franchise, Darth Vader in Han Solo spin-off and more – Daily News Roundup

September 21, 2017 by admin

SNYDER NOT COMING BACK FOR JUSTICE LEAGUE

Despite the rumours that Zack Snyder would return to the set of Justice League to help Joss Whedon finish the reshoots, it looks like the director has stepped aside for good. “I’m at a place where I feel excited about it and I’m happy for my guys and I love these people that are working on it, and they’re my family and I think they’re doing an amazing job,” he told Wired. “But I’ve kind of just let them do their thing.” Read more here.

CONGRATULATIONS TO HOMECOMING

There are a couple more superhero movies in the pipeline for 2017, but Spider-Man: Homecoming officially holds the title of the most successful of the year for now. Thanks in no small part to its solid opening in China, the film has overtaken Wonder Woman and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 with $861.8 million worldwide. Read more here.

SHE’LL BE BACK

Arnold Schwarzenegger isn’t the only one who will be back in Tim Miller’s The Terminator reboot. At a special screening of Terminator 2: Judgment Day 3D in Los Angeles last night, Miller and franchise creator and producer James Cameron announced that Linda Hamilton, Sarah Connor herself, will be returning to reprise her role in the sequel/reboot. TOMB RAIDING

The first trailer for video game adaptation Tomb Raider landed online yesterday, and you can check it out here.

IMPRESSIVE, MOST IMPRESSIVE

With all the drama surrounding Han Solo’s change of directors, it’s hard to figure out what exactly to expect from the film. According to one source, though, it seems Star Wars‘ iconic villain Darth Vader will be making another appearance in Ron Howard’s Anthology movie. The Hashtag Show – who have a spotty track record at best – are behind this rumour. Read more here.

FANTASTIC FOUR REBOOT

While promoting his new film Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Matthew Vaughn has already said he would like to tackle Man of Steel 2 and talked about his possible young Wolverine movie, and now he’s talked about rebooting Fantastic Four following Josh Trank’s disappointing 2015 effort. “The other one I’ve felt an obligation to do is, I wouldn’t mind maybe making a Fantastic Four film to apologize to everyone out there that maybe it didn’t go very well for them,” Vaughn told Cinema Blend. “It’s brilliant. One of my favourites is the Fantastic Four, so maybe one day I’ll try and rectify the mistake.” Read more here.
