The Swedish invade in Update 4.1 for World of Tanks Console

October 14, 2017 by Andrew Newton

Update 4.1 arrives for World of Tanks Console and brings with it lots of new content including Server Replays, new maps, new German heavy tanks and the rollout of the first Swedish tanks.  Check out the video below for a glimpse at the nations Premium tanks.

The biggest news for this update is the introduction of the first Swedish tanks to represent the latest nation added to the game.  The two new Premium Tanks, the Stark Strv S1 Tier VIII Tank Destroyer and the Strv m/42-57 Tier VI Medium Tank, provide a sneak peek at what to expect from Sweden’s upcoming tech tree.  The tank destroyer is also the first tank to feature a new gameplay mechanic and aiming system which is a unique hydro-pneumatic suspension that can raise and lower the front of the hulls due to the fact that the guns are fixed to the hull.  This suspension limits the tanks to 2 firing modes: Drive and Siege.  The Strv m/42-57 comes with a devastating auto-loading gun but long reload time.

The new German Heavy Tanks are:

  • VK 100.01 (P) – contains front armour strong enough to stop Tier X shells but more vulnerable sides.
  • Mäuschen – slow but plenty of hit points.
  • Pz.Kpfw VII – A beast of a machine with strong front armour.

The new Server Replays feature will allow players to view their last last five battles during the same gaming session.  Players will be able to play, pause, skip forward/backwards and change speeds and camera.

Update 4.1 includes two new maps to fight over.  These are:

Pilsen: features a maze of half destroyed factory buildings, construction equipment and the remnants of overhanging pipelines.  There’s some cover from artillery fire but don’t consider it a map not ideal for arty’ players.
Redshire 1944: this is an alternate version of the Redshire map but comes with a new castle area in the west and new terrain layout in the east.

For full details on 4.1 then read the update notes here.
