EXCLUSIVE – Jenny Slate “should be” returning for final season of Parks and Recreation

August 30, 2014 by Luke Owen

While over to promote her new film Obvious Child (read our review here), Jenny Slate told Flickering Myth that she “should be” returning as her character Mona-Lisa in the hit show Parks and Recreation.

“Yeah I should be,” the actress said when asked if she would be back. “But it’s set three years in the future now, so we’ll see”.

You can hear the latest Flickering Myth Podcast with Jenny Slate and Gillian Robespierre talking Obvious Child here.

Mona-Lisa, the sister of Jean-Ralphio, first appeared in the season five episode “Bailout” and has featured in another six episodes since. She did have a brief relationship with Aziz Ansari’s Tom Haverford and was described as “the worst person in the world”.

The upcoming seventh season of Parks and Recreation is reported to be the final series and is currently filming in Pasadena, California. Although the show was nominated for Outstanding Short-Format Live-Action Entertainment Program and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (for Amy Poehler) at the Emmys, Parks and Recreation went home empty handed.

Parks and Recreation will see returning stars Amy Poehler (They Came Together), Adam Scott (A.C.O.D), Nick Offerman (The LEGO Movie), Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy), Aubrey Plaza (Life After Beth), Aziz Ansari (Bob’s Burgers), Jim O’Heir (Mind Over Mindy) and Retta (Muffin Top: A Love Story) and should also see the return of Rashida Jones (I Love You, Man) and Rob Lowe (Wayne’s World).
