Jennifer Carpenter and Morris Chestnut join spy series The Enemy Within

March 4, 2018 by Gary Collinson

According to TV Line, Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter) and Morris Chestnut (Rosewood) have signed on to star alongside Raza Jaffrey (Code Black) in the NBC drama pilot The Enemy Within.

Written and executive produced by Ken Woodruff (Gotham), The Enemy Within is described as “a character-driven investigative thriller and will see Carpenter playing CIA operations deputy Erica Wolfe, “a highly intelligent codebreaker who learned her craft from her father”, while Chestnut and Jaffrey both portray FBI counter-intelligence agents.

Carpenter was most recently seen in last year’s Brawl in Cell Block 99 and also lends her voice to Selina Kyle in the recent DC animated movie Batman: Gotham By Gaslight. She has recently completed filming on the crime drama Dragged Across Concrete, which reunites her with Brawl in Cell Block 99 director S. Craig Zahler and Vince Vaughn, as well as Mel Gibson.

Chestnut meanwhile recently finished up his run on the police procedural series drama and also appeared in the hit comedy Girls Trip.
