Warner Bros. and WWE Studios tagging up for a Flintstones animated movie

May 29, 2013 by admin

Having previously announced that it’s to produce a Wrestlemania-themed Scooby-Doo movie to coincide with next year’s big wrestling showcase, WWE is now turning its attention to another beloved Hanna-Barbera cartoon, with Deadline revealing that WWE Studios is tagging up with Warner Bros. Animation for a direct-to-video Flintstones feature set around the world of Stone Age sports entertainment.

According to reports, the movie will follow Fred and Barney as they attend a prehistoric Wrestlemania event and will see several members of the WWE roster lending their voices to their respective characters, including Vince Magma (Vince McMahon), John Cenastone (John Cena) and CM Punkrock (CM Punk). Like the article states, it seems a missed opportunity not to include The Rock, but perhaps they can track down ‘The Rock’ Don Muraco instead – I’m sure his deal would surely contain considerably less zeroes than that of Dwayne Johnson…

The WWE Flintstones movie is set for release on Blu-ray, DVD, VOD and Digital Download in 2015.
