Super Smash Bros. 3DS sells over 2 million copies

October 7, 2014 by Tom Powter

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS released in Japan on September 13th and managed to sell a million copies in that very same week. Now, the game has been released in other territories since Friday 3rd October and Nintendo have just announced more insane numbers.

Super Smash Bros. has sold more than 2.8 million copies worldwide since the release of the game in Europe, America and Australia. That’s an absolutely colossal number and it’s looking to only get better and better as we enter into the holiday season.

Seemingly to celebrate, Nintendo have also revealed release dates for Smash Bros. on Wii U and the new GameCube controller and adapters, as well as the first two waves of their new amiibo range.

Are you one of the 2.8 million Smashers? Let us know what you think of the game in the comments below and read our full review of the game.
