March 28, 2018 by Andrew Newton

Dragon Quest fans will be excited to hear that Square Enix’ Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age will arrive on the Playstation 4 and Steam on 4th September.  The long awaited eleventh title in the series from creator Yuji Horii will take gamers on a quest in a beautifully detailed world.  A new video showing the game’s opening movie can be seen below along with a video providing a glimpse of a first look at the Western version of the game…

In Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age players will follow a young adventurer on his quest to discover what became of him in a past life.  After taking part in a Coming of Age ceremony he discovers that he was once a legendary hero but after telling his king this he is hunted by the king’s relentless army.

The game will feature a good supply of supporting characters, a finely tuned turn based combat system, an immersive story and plenty of side quests and mini games.  The western version of the game will also feature:

  • English voiceover.
  • Draconian Quest mode – a hard mode providing additional challenges.
  • Overhauled Menus and UI – with graphical and navigational enhancements.
  • A Camera Mode that allows players to take in views of the landscape etc.

Those who pre-order on the Playstation Store will receive an exclusive PS4 theme and some in-game DLC items including Vest for Success, Seed of Skill and Über Agate of Evolution.
