Minecraft on PS Vita finally has a release date

October 10, 2014 by Tom Powter

Despite Minecraft being released on just about every platform under the sun, it’s taken the PS Vita version quite some time. However, the game at last has a release date. The developer of the port, 4J Studios, revealed on their Twitter that Minecraft Vita will arrive in Europe on October 15th – which is only next Wednesday at time of writing.

The game is arriving in North America a day earlier, on the 14th. It will be priced at $14.99, while a retail version of the game will arrive on November 11th for the same price. It’s a good thing that the Vita version managed to pass its certification test the first time round, since the PS4 version didn’t have such luck. In fact, they failed the certification test and had to be resubmitted altogether.

Considering Mojang, the team behind Minecraft, was recently bought by Microsoft, Playstation fans are likely to be breathing a sigh of relief that everything seems to still be in order.
