Channing Tatum’s Gambit movie offically announced, gets RoboCop screenwriter

October 31, 2014 by Gary Collinson

We’ve known for a while that 20th Century Fox intends to launch an X-Men spin-off with Channing Tatum starring as the card-throwing mutant Gambit, and now the studio has made it official, with Deadline revealing that Tatum has officially signed on to the project and will also produce.

The script for Gambit is set to be written by Josh Zetumer, screenwriter of the recent RoboCop reboot, and – in news that is sure to pique the interest of X-Men fans – will be based on a treatment from Chris Claremont, co-creator of the character and the writer responsible for some of the most famous stories from the X-Men universe.
