New trailer and banned poster for Eil Roth’s Clown

November 5, 2014 by admin

We posted the first look at Clown a couple of months ago and now we have a new trailer (albeit in Italian) and the banned poster for the movie.

Clown started out life as a fake trailer by Jon Watts which gained the attention of Eli Roth (The Green Inferno) who loved the idea. Watts then worked with Christoper D. Ford (Robot & Frank) to bring this joke trailer to a reality.. The film is set to debut in Italy next month (a nice Christmas treat), but it looks like the below poster has caused some issues:

The above poster was deemed too scary by the Italian public and has since been banned to be replaced with:

A bit nicer eh? Of course, this could all just be a publicity stunt, but who knows?

Check out the trailer for Clown below. Beware though, it’s Italian dubbed, but you get the general idea:

A loving father finds a clown suit for his son’s birthday party, only to realize the suit is part of an evil curse that turns its wearer into a killer.

In the meantime, Roth’s The Green Inferno still remains in limbo with no release date in site, you can read our review of it here.

Clown features a cast that includes Peter Stormare (The Penguins of Madagascar), Laura Allen (Awake), Elizabeth Whitmire (A Brand New You), Christian Distefano (Peg + Cat), John MacDonald (White House Down), Chuck Shamata (Fugget About It), Andy Powers (In Her Shoes) and Eli Roth.
