Alessandro Nivola joins cast of Sony & Marvel’s Kraven The Hunter

March 5, 2022 by EJ Moreno

Aaron Taylor Johnson will star as Kraven The Hunter in the Marvel character’s first ever film, and he’ll need to face off against a formidable foe. While we don’t know the exact character yet, Johnson will star opposite The Many Saints of Newark star Alessandro Nivola.

Nivola becomes the latest addition to the cast, which is growing very quickly. We recently learned that Ariana DeBose will star as Calypso, with Fred Hechinger as Chameleon, and Russell Crowe in a still undisclosed role.

Since Kraven The Hunter is mainly a villain in the comic, his rogue’s gallery isn’t easy to pick from. Nivola could bring a character from the comics to life, or serve as an original creation for the film. Sony has its pickings from the Spider-Man character library, so expect a deep cut when it comes to the movie’s villains. Fred Hechinger’s Chameleon is usually a bad guy in the comics, so he could play a role in fighting against his half-brother Kraven.

Kraven The Hunter is being directed by J.C. Chandor (Triple Frontier) from a script by Iron Man and Punisher: War Zone screenwriters Art Marcum and Matt Holloway. It is set for release on January 13th, 2023.
