Ari Aster says he feels a responsibility to deliver something amazing in behind-the-scenes look at Beau is Afraid

Ari Aster isn’t underselling his latest descent into darkness Beau is Afraid, describing it as “epic”, “jumbo”, and a film in which “every detail has a detail inside of it” in this latest behind-the-scenes look, in which the director also reveals that he wanted to make a film “where it feels like you’ve been through a life, or even through a person” and that he feels “a great responsibility to deliver something amazing”.

We’ll get to find out if he has achieved such lofty ambitions when Beau is Afraid is released on April 21st. In the meantime, check out the featurette below…

An intimate, decades-spanning portrait of one of the most successful entrepreneurs of all time. An anxious man learns of the death of his mother under mysterious circumstances and upon traveling home makes an alarming discovery about his past. During his journey, he runs into various crazy supernatural threats.

From Midsommar and Hereditary director Ari Aster Beau is Afraid stars Academy Award winner Joaquin Phoenix, Nathan Lane, Amy Ryan, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zoe Lister-Jones, Armen Nahapetian, with Parker Posey and Patti LuPone.

Beau is Afraid is released on April 21st, 2023.
