Blumhouse shares first look image from Stephen King’s Firestarter

With filming now underway, Blumhouse Pictures has announced that you actress Ryan Kiera Armstrong (American Horror Story, The Tomorrow War, It Chapter Two) is set to take on the lead role in the new adaptation of Stephen King’s classic novel Firestarter.

Firestarter revolves around a young girl (Armstrong, seen above in the official first look image) with pyrokinetic abilities who is abducted by a secret government agency that wants to harness her powerful gift as a weapon.

Keith Tomas (The Vigil) is directing the film from a script by Scott Teems (Halloween Kills), while Armstrong joins the previously announced Zac Efron (The Greatest Showman) and Michael Greyeyes (True Detective). Expect further casting news imminently.
