Build a Mars Attacks theme park with Mars Attracts

September 27, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Outlier has announced there will be an Alpha test period for their upcoming park management sim Mars Attracts in November and are inviting humans to sign up and try their hand at building a theme park in the iconic Mars Attacks universe.  The announcement of this playtest coincides with a new gameplay trailer (see below) that was first shown at the Convergence Showcase.

The new gameplay trailer shows the game in its current stage of development and viewers can see the various colourful environments, human acquisition mechanics and provides a little taster of the chaos that occurs when humans break free of their enclosures.

Mars Attracts takes the wonderful systems and in-depth management simulations that players see in games like Roller Coaster Tycoon, Theme Hospital and Zoo Tycoon and splashes it with the retro-futuristic, B-movie mischief of the Mars Attacks universe.

Players will have to build a theme park that will appeal to the Martian guests, build rides, hire and train staff, manage the needs of guests and abduct the humans that will be the main attraction. As with zoo management games, the exhibits need looking after and the humans are no different. Be sure to meet the human’s needs and keep their enclosures tidy or they may break loose.

Mars Attracts will allow players to:

  • Build rides, amenities, facilities and more to make the park the number one attraction on Mars.
  • Abduct humans from different time periods and display them in customisable habitats.
  • Study humans and unlock new ways in which to entertain the guests.
  • Hire researchers to monitor the humans, janitors to maintain the enclosures and always have some security on stand-by.
  • Control the humans and prevent them from escaping.
  • Manage finances to prevent going broke.

Mars Attracts is set to launch in Early Access in 2025 on PC and is available to wishlist on Steam now. Those wishing to take part in this early Alpha playtest can sign up now at www.MarsAttracts.com
