Captain Jack is back in trailer for Doctor Who Christmas Special ‘Revolution of the Daleks’

November 23, 2020 by Amie Cranswick

The BBC has released a poster and trailer for this year’s Doctor Who Christmas Special, which reveals that John Barrowman’s fan favourite Captain Jack Harkness is set to make his return to the franchise in ‘Revolution of the Daleks’!

“Putting on Jack’s coat and setting foot back on the set of ‘Doctor Who’ was just like going back home,” said Barrowman. “It’s always thrilling to play Captain Jack. He’s a character very close to my heart who changed my life, and to know the fans love him as much as I do makes his return even sweeter. I hope everyone enjoys Jack’s heroic adventure with Thirteen.”

“After a tantalisingly brief appearance in ‘Fugitive of the Judoon,’ it’s a total joy and thrill to welcome back John as Captain Jack,” said executive producer Matt Strevens. “One of the most iconic characters in Doctor Who lore, his presence ignites this holiday special from the start.”

The Doctor is locked away in a high-security alien prison. Isolated, alone, with no hope of escape. Far away, on Earth, her best friends, Yaz, Ryan and Graham have to pick up their lives without her. But it’s not easy, old habits die hard. Especially when they discover a disturbing plan forming. A plan which involves a Dalek. How can you fight a Dalek, without the Doctor?
