Having been linked to the project earlier this month, Marvel has now officially announced that Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Meg LeFauve (Inside Out) are set to pen the script for the studio’s first female-led superhero offering Captain Marvel.

The film is set for release on November 2nd, 2018, although interestingly Marvel’s press release states that the film will mark Carol Danvers’ “first solo cinematic adventure”, so could that mean we might get to see Captain Marvel on the big screen before then? The character was originally included in an early draft of Avengers: Age of Ultron, so perhaps Marvel has plans to introduce her in an earlier Phase Three movie? Of course, I could just be reading too much into the wording…
