Classic NES game Jaws is coming to PS5 and Nintendo Switch

December 11, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Limited Run Games has announced that it is unsafe to go back in the water as they prepare for a physical release of the 1987 Nintendo Entertainment System game, Jaws. Pre-orders will begin on 19th December for two different physical editions on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5, but be quick as the pre-order period will end on 18th January.

In this rerelease of the 1987 classic NES game, the most feared great white of the oceans makes its return. Those players brave enough to face this pixelated man-eater will be able to steer their boat around the ocean and take on a variety of different terrifying sea creatures as they search for the iconic shark.

Players will be able to get ready for approaching danger thanks to the bleeping of the sonar receiver, but if the ship is struggling against the dangers of the deep, then it can be upgraded for different vessels with better firepower and a much better fighting chance.

The first of the two physical editions of the game is Jaws: Retro Edition. This is available for the PS5 and Switch and includes a physical copy of the game and an 8-page booklet.

The Jaws: The Bigger Boat Edition  is available for the PS5 and Nintendo Switch and features the physical copy of the game, an 8-page booklet, a NES-inspired box, the game soundtrack on a physical CD, a ‘Beach Closed’ enamel pin badge, a themed keychain, and a gorgeous pixelated shark lamp.

Be sure to pre-order one of these excellent physical edition games by pre-ordering after 19th December.
