DC sequel Shazam! Fury of the Gods begins production

With cameras rolling on the Dwayne Johnson-led Black Adam movie, Zachary Levi has uttered the words ‘Shazam!’ and taken to Instagram to officially announce his return as Black Adam’s nemesis for the start of production on Warner Bros., New Line Cinema and DC Films’  Shazam! Fury of the Gods.

The follow-up to 2019’s Shazam! is once again being directed by David F. Sandberg, and sees the return of Levi alongside fellow cast members Asher Angel (Billy Batson), Jack Dylan Grazer and Adam Brody a Freddy Freeman, Faith Herman and Meagan Good as Darla Dudley, Grace Fulton and Michelle Borth as Mary Bromfield, Ian Chen and Ross Butler as Eugene Choi, Jovan Armand and D.J. Cotrona as Pedro Pena, Marta Milans as Rosa Vasquez and Cooper Andrews as Victor Vasquez. New additions to the cast include Helen Mirren as Hespera, Lucy Liu as Kalypso and Rachel Zegler as an as-yet-unrevealed roles.

As for whether we’ll see any crossover with the Black Adam movie, Zachary Levi has previously teased that fans will have to wait until Shazam! 3, although don’t be surprised if either – or both – movies feature teases to set up the eventual showdown between the two foes.
