Netflix and the BBC has released the trailer for Cunk on Cinema, the latest outing for Diane Morgan’s pioneering documentary-maker Philomena Cunk.
Morgan created the character alongside Black Mirror‘s Charlie Brooker, and this three-episode mocumentary sends Cunk right to the guts of cinema, befuddling a whole host of guests that include Michael Bay, Benedict Cumberbatch, Daniel Pemberton, Steven E. de Souza, Seamus McGarvey, Mark Kermode, Mark Cousins, Isabel Stevens, Helen O’Hara, Catherine Bray, Bryony Dixon, David Rubin, Jim Dowdall, Kaleem Aftab and many more. Check out the trailer below…
Philomena Cunk is back and will be asking experts all of the hard-hitting questions about the history of cinema, from the invention of the camera, to the New Wave filmmakers of the 60s, right up to entrance of CGI and what the future of AI holds. Cunk will attempt to demystify it all while sitting in lumpy seats with stale popcorn, asking herself where did cinema come from? And why? What does it want? And why can’t it tell us?
Cunk on Cinema streams on Netflix and BBC iPlayer from Thursday November 12th.
