Dwayne Johnson joins Will Gluck action comedy

December 12, 2015 by Gary Collinson

New Line Cinema has snapped up the rights to an as-yet-untitled action comedy from director Will Gluck (Easy A, Annie) and screenwriter Dave Callaham (The Expendables, Godzilla), which has Dwayne Johnson attached to star.

Deadline reports that plot details are being kept under wraps, but its seen as “a throwback to those mismatched buddy action comedies like Lethal Weapon, Midnight Run and 48 Hours” and is being viewed as a potential franchise starter.

The project is being produced by Beau Flynn, who is also collaborating with Johnson on the upcoming video game adaptation Rampage and the big screen remake of Baywatch.
