Exclusive images from Mike Mignola and Lemony Snicket’s Pinocchio

April 12, 2023 by Gary Collinson

Hellboy creator Mike Mignola, Eisner Award-winning colorist Dave Stewart and A Series of Unfortunate Events author Mike Mignola are teaming with Beehave Books for an all-new deluxe hardcover illustrated and annotated edition of Carlo Collodi’s classic novel Pinocchio, and we’re fortunate enough to have a few exclusive images from the upcoming release as well as some quotes from the creators.

“It would be nice if more people actually knew that there was an actual novel—and that’s it’s wildly different from what (at least in America) they have seen on the screen,” said Mignolo with regards to the Carlo Collodi book.

“We are currently living in an era in which the inherent furious madness of the world, which we cannot help but notice, is endlessly labeled as something of no importance,” added Lemony Snicket. “This novel will remind you that the world is crazy, which should be a relief, because so are you. If you read Pinocchio, the next time the world turns on you, and you find yourself dying several times in quick succession, you will say to yourself, ‘Ah yes, this is supposed to be happening to me.’”

Beehive Books’ Pinocchio is currently available to order via Kickstarter, where it has absolutely smashed its target and is currently sitting on 789% funded. Check out the campaign page here.
