For Sama takes top honours at the 2019 British Independent Film Awards

The winners of the 2019 British Independent Film Awards were revealed at a ceremony in London last night, with the acclaimed documentary For Sama taking home the top honour, Best British Independent Film, ahead of Bait, The Personal History of David Copperfield, The Souvenir and Wild Rose.

Along with Best British Independent Film, For Sama picked up a further three awards (Best Documentary, Best Director and Best Editing), while there will also multiple BIFA wins for The Personal History of David Copperfield (5), Judy (2), The Last Tree (2) and Only You (2).
