Jessica Chastain to produce and star in action thriller Eve

August 4, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Jessica Chastain has signed on to produce and star in Eve, an action-thriller from writer director Matthew Newton (Who We Are Now), Variety has revealed.

Matthew is wonderfully adept at crafting complex and relatable characters,” reads a statement from Chastain and her prodcuing partner Kelly Carmichael of Freckle Films. “We’ve been fans of his work and are so thrilled to be partnering with him and Voltage on Eve.”

“I have always admired Jessica Chastain’s work,” added Newton. “So when I wrote Eve, an intelligent, strong, and incredibly capable character, she was my immediate first choice to bring her to life. I am humbled and thrilled to be collaborating with Jessica and Voltage on the film.”

Chastain is currently shooting the horror sequel It: Chapter Two and also stars as the villain in 20th Century Fox’s X-Men: Dark Phoenix. The actress is also attached to the video game adaptation The Division, as well as a big screen version of the comic book Painkiller Jane.
