Justice League concept artist says Joss Whedon’s film wasn’t entirely what Snyder intended

July 6, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Jay Oliva, the storyboard artist on Justice League, has said that Joss Whedon’s cut wasn’t the story Zack Snyder wanted to tell.

The discussion around Justice League is still taking place so many months after its release, namely regarding the so-called ‘Snyder cut’ – the version of the film that fans are desperate to see after Snyder left the movie due to a personal tragedy.

A number of people connected to the film have revealed that the Joss Whedon theatrical cut isn’t the only one that exists and a version that more closely resembles Synder’s initial vision is out there. This, in turn, has led to a movement for Snyder’s cut to be released.

Jay Oliva, a storyboard artist for the film, has his thoughts on the cut, and has told Revenge of the Fans that Whedon’s version of the film isn’t what Snyder intended: “That’s what the whole movement is about. It’s not about finishing the film it’s about showing the fans of Zack’s universe established in MoS and BvS the more accurate representation of where the story was supposed to go.”
