Lovecraftian FPS Beneath sets console release with new trailer

July 30, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Wired Productions and developer Camel 101 have announced they will be bringing their intense FPS Lovecraftian horror, Beneath, to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. This upcoming console version will feature plenty of creepy atmospheric gameplay and heart-pounding horror.  Watch the new trailer below….

Beneath is a Lovecraftian survival horror that takes players into the briny deep as seasoned diver Noah Quinn. Follow Quinn as his normal routine dive traps  him deep beneath the ocean’s surface alongside an ancient evil. With resources dwindling, nightmarish horrors creeping closer and the ever-encroaching madness, Quinn must confront the sinister conspiracy threatening all of humanity.

With scant supplies and scarce ammunition, players will need to make every shot count as they confront the horrors of the depths. Though disposing of these horrors isn’t always necessary, players will also be able to hide in the shadows and use stealth to bypass enemies so as to conserve precious ammo.

There’s a variety of enemies to confront, from soldiers to grotesque Lovecraftian monstrosities, and it will be vital to master their tactics to survive the adrenaline-pumping battles. Discover more enemies as you explore the hidden depths of the ocean’s abyss and deep-sea research stations with the specialised diving gear.

Playstation 5 players can expect immersive haptic feedback, adaptive trigger support, and enhanced visuals using PSSR on PS5 Pro, with all consoles enjoying 4K at 60fps for a fluid and beautiful experience.

Those wanting a peek at the game now can check out the brand-new PC demo on Steam until 4th August.
