Red Art Games has released the western version of MACROSS -Shooting Insight- digitally on Playstation 5, PS4 and Nintendo Switch. This latest title in the popular anime franchise is the very first MACROSS title to get an official release in the west. Those of you who like their physical media (like me) will be happy to hear that a physical edition will be out later in the year.
MACROSS -Shooting Insight- is a multi-dimensional shooter that takes pilots, songstresses and characters from five MACROSS series (MACROSS Plus, MACROSS Zero, MACROSS 7, MACROSS Frontier and MACROSS Delta) and transports them to Battle 7 and a completely original storyline.
Players will be able to play as different pilots from different time periods and journey through stages made up of multiple scenes, each of which having their own distinct game types, including horizontally scrolling shooting, vertically scrolling shooting and 360-degree scrolling shooting.
Players will be able to use the power of songs to gain the upper hand in battle by synchonising with songstresses to activate an assortment of buffs and debuffs, such as increased forepower or reduced enemy fire spread.
